Hi Jon
The spindles are the "L" shaped pieces that consist of the front stub
axle(s) and the vertical axle pivots (spindles). The complete axle
assembly
consists of the beam itself in the middle, and a spindle at each end.
Looks
like:
One of my front axle spindles cracked near the bottom of the vertical
spindle shaft, causing (of course) a complete lack of steering control and
a decided lear to the whole thing. I bough a new one locally (several
years
ago) since welding was out of the question.
My other tractor, and E-12 has very sloppy steering, apparently the result
of wear in the gears at the base of the steering wheel shaft. One of these
days......

hi thanks for all the good info. just wondering what you're referring to
by
spindles. i have trouble with a machine when i steer all the way to either
side, but problem seems to be in steering gears. regards, jon k
