As electric vehicle chargers go, these are fairly cheap, especially since
they have an inverter function. Reliability would probably not be close
to that of a good "boat-anchor" Lester or Hobart charger, or a top-shelf
inverter such as a Statpower. But maybe that's not as important on a
tractor as it is on a daily driver automobile.
The Italian-made Zivan NG-1 charger is the cheapest transformer-isolated,
microprocessor-controlled EV charger I know of (there are some cheaper
ones which don't provide isolation from the AC power line and thus aren't
as safe). The NG-1 is a lightweight, switchmode type, good for 1000
watts at 12-72 volts with several different 2- and 3-stage charge
algorithms (programmed by the dealer). It's about $575.
