I had the inside of the battery boxes on my Honda Civic EV conversion 
coated with that epoxy-based spray-on pickup truck bedliner material.  
Great stuff.  Nothing can hurt it.

You can now buy this coating in a kit.  I've seen it at various auto
supply chains and even at K-Mart.  It costs about $100 for enough 
material to do your pickup truck (or at least a half-dozen ETs).  I think 
the kit comes with a roller.

You can buy the material in bulk at body material jobbers for somewhat 
less. It's meant for use with an undercoating gun; I don't know what kind 
of results you'd get using a roller with the bulk material.  Its pot time 
is pretty short, so you need to work fast.
