Its an arithmetic way of representing the observed effect that a battery
*appears* to have less capacity if a higher current is drawn from it.  A
higher peukert number indicates a battery which loses capacity more rapidly
than a battery with a lower number.

Usually smaller batteries have higher numbers, but not always.  You might
