Fellow GE admirers:
Friends of mine have a restorable E15 that
I sold to them 6 to 7 years ago. It was a complete working tractor that
needed sheet metal work and batteries. It has been stored outside for the
last 5 years, but the motors are in their garage and have been rebuilt. If
anyone wants a complete rebuildable tractor, please contact me. Other wise
I'll have to drive to Detroit from Delaware to save this tractor from being
discarded. They only have storage space for the rebuilt motors which I'll
get if the package isn't sold whole.
The story: Years ago I sold a
restorable E15 with a mower deck to friends in the Detroit area. To help
them get started I rebuilt the traction motor and all 3 mower deck motors.
The motor rebuilds included new bearings, brushes, sandblasting, and new paint
and primer. The tractor itself worked, the sheet metal was dismal, but the
frame was still good. This was a good restorable tractor.
To make a long story short, my friend's
lack of time and experience with electric stuff has prevented them from starting
the rebuild. They finally bought a gas tractor and admit that the electric
will not be rebuilt. Oh well, I guess they don't mind the
noise.
