I still would like to know whether the later models (the ones
with the chute crank hung from the thrower itself, not from the side of
the tractor) universally work better.
Mine is of this type, and it works pretty well if the snow is not too
sticky. It typically throws it something like 5 to 15 feet from the
side of the tractor. However, if the snow is the sort from which you
could easily make a snow man, you have to clean out the chute often.
I still think it is very useful, although a 2-stage one would of course
be better.
