Re: Need some info

It appears that you have had a response to your question, from another
party and he couldn't have said it better.

I am presently operating an E12, vintage probably 1971, which is older than
my first E12, that I bought in 1972.
It is good to know that I am not alone. I have kept my first E12 for
parts, and glad I did. Finding parts nowadays is iffy at best.
Some years back, I needed a mower deck, because mine had rotted out. In
the process of looking, I found one, attached to an E20, which I bought and
used for about 4 years. Eventually traded E20 plus some cash for my
present E12.

I also have the Sevice Manual, acquired with the E20, and it is invaluable
for troubleshooting.

I just acquired an Electrac arc welder at a yard sale. Haven't tried it
out yet, since I don't yet have a helmet.

One part I have had trouble finding is mower blades. They don't match the
standard aftermarket blades that are sold for most gas-powered lawnmowers.
If anyone knows of a source of mower blades, I'd like to hear it.

Hello,

I am the original owner of a 12HP Electrak that has not been used for
about 18 years. It looks great although I have not taken off any of the
motor covers recently. Actually, my dad bought it and then suggested I
start a lawn mowing business! I made quite a bit. I have had the tractor
in my garage for many, many years and would like to get it going (we
have over 9 acres here and it would be handy). In addtion to the tractor
I have the front mounted mower, dozer blade and chain saw. I also have
the weight box and chains for winter plowing.

I would like to know what type of batteries to buy as replacements and
also am looking for pointers/suggestions on how to go about getting this
going again.

What sort of things are likely to give me trouble?

I do have the original service manual along with some of the update
sheets.

Thanks for any information,
wendy
