Re: tidying at ON

We keep a pretty tidy ringing room in general. What Chelsea has done,
and I expect it took a lot of work, was remove much of our stuff, but as
you say, she didn't trash anything. We have hung the clock back on the
wall and retrieved the stools and step ladder from the organ blower closet
(!) since we use them every time we're in the ringing room. We left our
radiator in the bathroom, apparently its new storage place.

There are things that are ours and things that belong to the church or
the historic site.
Things that are theirs that can be removed with no affect on ringing, so
we'd be happy to see them go:
TV
TV table (and the cheerful new cover they've put on the table)
Air conditioner
Big block of wood left over from the 1890s

We are happy to have our bookshelf replaced by a case with closing
doors (which was one of the suggestions to approve the appearance of the
room). Someone needs to make really careful measurements to make sure the
hypothetical bookcase can be moved up the stairs before they buy it.
We are very grateful that the boxes were recognized as necessities.

Organizational question: we have forty-five years of Ringing Worlds,
more or less. There are tubs full in my basement and maybe ten years worth
in the ON ringing room. Clearly we can remove the ringing room copies.
Should we buy some archive CDs of old issues and recycle the rest?

Subject: tidying at ON

Hi folks,

ON are beginning to think about tours again and are keen to get the ringing
chamber tidied up a bit in support of that.

Firstly the new Sexton, Chelsea, has done some tidying already, including
gathering up some of the loose items. She assures me that she's not thrown
anything out, so if stuff we need isn't there not to stress and we will
sort it out. It sounds like she might well be there at practice today to
say hi.

They're thinking of setting up some sort of cabinet for our personal things
as needed as well, which might help keep things tidy.

Finally they are keen to move any larger items that aren't needed any more
from the space, and asked that we tag (perhaps with a postit) anything of
that ilk that they can remove, ideally by two weeks today.

Hope that all seems feasible, and do let me know any questions. Sorry for
the late notice on some of this; entirely my failing, as Catherine and
Chelsea pinged me earlier this week and I am simply behind on email at
present.

Thanks all!

Dale
