1812 etc

    Thanks to Josh, Margaret, Michael, Pi, Rachel, and me, there were nice 
rounds on church bells, as called for, in addition to the tubular chimes 
in the orchestra.  I am pretty sure I'm not imagining the sound of our 
bells in this snip from the TV broadcast (at about three minutes in)

   He's not a ringer, but I was glad for his sake that guest artist Nick 
Jonas got to see the fireworks.  The orchestra members are usually hustled 
onto buses immediately after the Stars & Stripes Forever but maybe the 
guests are more independent.

     Midday at Old North, it was nice to have Jesse W with us while we
