Re: Advent change ringing in 1934



  The only name I recognize is Sturgis. It's nice to know details of what was sort of an area meeting in 1934 (folks coming from Kent and Groton plus the locals).   It's also entertaining to see the reference to "The Nine Tailors," which would have been a recent
release at the time.  Thanks for this.

Subject: Fwd: Advent change ringing in 1934

I was poking around the Harvard Musical Association Library on Chestnut St, and happened upon this book on change ringing. In the front there was pasted an unattributed newspaper article describing ringing taking place at Advent around Christmas in 1934. Some of the descriptions are very entertaining, and it provides a snapshot of who the ringers were and what they were ringing.
