"Scale-Invariant Dynamics in Neural Systems"
Neural systems exhibit temporal dynamics over time scales ranging from
milliseconds to years. This often results in power-law rather than
exponential decays and, in general, produces dynamics that cannot
be characterized by any fixed time constant. I will discuss ways of
modeling and thinking about such systems and, in particular, explore the
functional implications of scale-invariant dynamics for memory.
