Dear Members of the Physics-Astronomy Department,
Paul comes to us most recently from TERC, where he has been Senior Engineer for 20 years, working on developing, designing and building materials and equipment for numerous projects related to hands-on science and math education. He brings
deep understanding of physics, very strong technical skills, and a passion for using real things to enhance students’ understanding of how the world works. Some of us have had the opportunity to work with Paul on the
Fulcrum Institute, Poincaré Institute, Inquiry Project, and other science and math education initiatives. If you have ideas for new demonstrations or lab activities you’d like to develop, or old ones you’d like to see improved, Paul will
be eager to brainstorm with you. Please welcome Paul when you see him in the department. Many thanks to Hugh Gallagher, Tim Atherton, David Hammer and Shannon Landis for their help with the hiring process.
