Dear Class of M'04:
Welcome to the Web Site for Clinical Anatomy! This page is designed to serve as a resource for
general information about the course. Here you will find introductory material intended to prepare
you for the first week of class, plus online materials to supplement the syllabus each of you will
be given before the Winter Break.
When you return to school for the second semester, you will have been assigned to a lab
dissection group. Each group will have 5 members; assignments are random. On January 2, we will meet
for an introductory session, at which time you will be introduced to the Clinical Anatomy teaching
staff and given some basic organizational information. On January 3, we formally begin our
study of the lower extremity, and will go to lab following the 1:00 lecture.
It is normal to feel some anxiety about going to lab. Most students find that they quickly become
accustomed to being there, and that the best way of dealing with discomfort is to acknowledge it
freely. Talking with classmates and staff can help, and we encourage you to share your feelings
about death, dying and cadavers with us, now and as the course proceeds.
Enjoy the holidays! The Clinical Anatomy teaching staff and I look forward to welcoming you
in person as the new year begins.
