Welcome to the Dental Gross Anatomy Class

June 15, 2000

Dear Members of the Class of D'04:

Welcome to Tufts! The Gross Anatomy teaching staff and I are eagerly looking forward to greeting you in person on the first day of classes.

Gross Anatomy is your first class in Dental School. If you talk to the upperclassmen, they will tell you that this course is a significant (and hopefully positive) component of the fall semester. In order to ensure that you get off to the best possible start, we encourage you to communicate freely with us regarding any questions you might have about the course : books and materials, study skills, and anxieties about the lab are common areas of concern for most students.

At 9AM on Monday, August 28, we will meet in Posner Auditorium; at this time, you will receive your course syllabus, which is full of helpful information. We WILL be going to lab that first morning after the introductory lectures, so be sure to wear comfortable clothing (a lab coat or scrub suit are preferred attire)and pick up your copy of the Dissection Guide in the bookstore, as well as a supply of disposable gloves. We will supply you with enough instruments to begin your work; you may want to add to these later on.

In the meantime, I hope you are enjoying getting to know your classmates and all that Boston has to offer! You can check this website for the course schedule, the booklist, and a sense of what the course is about. We look forward to meeting you very soon.
