Solectria Force for sale -- SOLD

This car has been sold.

Our 1999 Force is for sale. This is the one which had the gearbox problem I posted about on the solectria_ev list. The gearbox was repaired by Mau Nguyen. It now works fine, but it makes a "grumbling" noise. Mau says he expects it to get better over time, and it seems to have been doing so, but slowly. The noise has no noticeable effect upon the energy consumption.

This car has a Brusa NLG512 charger. This is the recent line of Brusa chargers that do not have all the overheating problems of the NLG4. It is user-programmable with lots of features. The NLG512 has an maximum output current of 18A; Brusa now only makes higher voltage, lower current units with a maximum output current of 12.5A.

The mileage is about 61,500. The batteries were last replaced at 36,808, so they have about 24,700 miles on them. The range is down to 20-25 miles

There is some rust, especially immediately in front of the back wheels, where the previous owner had some plates installed to address the problem.

This car has the kerosene heater, but we have not been able to get it to work. A/C and electric heat work.

We're asking $2500. A lot of this is for the charger. A Brusa NLG513 from Metric Mind costs $2849, and this one is better for this application.
