All, Public Safety is upgrading all employee ID cards.
1.
Physical – the new ID cards have a chip and a magnetic strip. The chip enables tap readers, which will begin to show up more often.
2.
Technical – each new ID has a unique randomly generated number, which will replace social security numbers for some older employees. What does that mean for you? -
Most employees need a new ID.
This process will be accomplished in one sweep on Tuesday, March 29th. All current IDs will cease to work that morning, new ID cards will be printed and delivered to the department
that day and distributed to the best of my ability to everyone. Ultimately, however,
you will be responsible for obtaining your new ID from Shannon. -
All old IDs MUST be returned to me at that time. -
Any access that an employee has, including access to the gym, will transfer from the old ID card to the new ID card. -
**Several long term employees MUST visit Public Safety during normal business hours to have a photo taken prior to March 29th.**
They are: Jim Cyr Gary Goldstein Leon Gunther Tony Mann Alex Vilenkin
Please do this sooner than later… on March 29th your current card will cease to work. -
Because of the technology inside the card, the new ID cards cannot be bent or have holes punched in them. -
Any employee who already has one of the new ID cards will not need have their card replaced (includes Staii, Kanno, Cherdack, Olum, and Sajina). You need do nothing -
Any staff members who have a photo on file but would like their photo retaken can to do so by visiting Administrative Services during business hours prior to March 29th.
