Let's nip this in the bud as pointedly as possible: No one is going to be
bothered by your presence. You are welcome to help us construct the Hunt --
God knows there will be more than enough work for everybody. That you were
unable to attend this year's Hunt is completely immaterial. If anybody on
the team feels otherwise, they are welcome to look for another team
themselves -- the credo of Palindrome is that we are a friendly, wide-open
team, and that holds true even when we are the ones running the Hunt.

Forgive me for bothering you all, but I really need some other opinions
before I figure out how to proceed.

I've been on the team for only a couple of years - a short time compared to
most, I realize.  Outside of that, I've helped to work on the Hunt most
every year since sometime in the mid-90's (don't remember precisely which
year was my first).  However... this year, though I greatly wanted to
participate, and had every intention of doing so (reserved time off from
work, made a few arrangements, etc.), I ended up very sick last weekend, 
and
thus ended up not participating at all.  At some point on Saturday morning,
I felt (almost) well enough to try to get online, but the act of trying to
summon up the energy to call in to get the wiki password somehow morphed
into the act of falling asleep on the couch with a fleece blanket and my
cat.  And by the next time I was really, truly conscious, the Hunt was
already over.

So, now I don't know which direction to go in.  I suppose I don't know how
appropriate it would be to stay on the team, though I do want to remain,
especially since some of the members of the team are people I've been
friends with for quite a few years.  I'll admit that I do very much want to
be involved with the construction of next year's hunt, but a part of me
feels as though this would be undeserved.  However, the idea of finding
another team (though I doubt I'll find one as fun to work with) is vastly
preferable to the idea of asking to stay and then having other team members
bothered by my presence.

If any of you could help me to resolve this (either way), I'd be grateful.
And feel free to email me personally if you don't want your response going
out on the general list.
