Re: [Palindrome] Congrats, and a note about Hunt-planning security
Mailing list -- until rather recently, we were creating a new mailing list each year with the new team name, once it had been decided on, and everyone who wanted to participate had to sign up all over. So carrying the mailing list over from year to year wasn't an issue the last time we ran the hunt. About 2 or 3 years ago, this mailing list (palindrome) was created, so that it wouldn't have to be set up anew every year. I've looked at the list of everyone who is currently signed up for this list, and I am quite sure that there are a number of people on there who did not participate this year and didn't bother removing themselves from the list. This wasn't as big of an issue when we were a solving team (however, this is why the wiki password was changed at the last moment), but it's a much bigger problem when we are running the hunt. So, we either need a procedure for pruning down the current mailing list, or create a new one. My vote is for a new list.
Test solvers -- The last time we ran the hunt, we had recruited some NPL members who weren't participating in the hunt to test-solve for us. However, I think that, after seeing our puzzles, a number of them had joined the hunt in the subsequent years. Bummer! hehehe
