First of all, let me assure you that rumors of my death have been
exaggerated. Yeah, I know Gary accidentally poisoned me while trying to kill
Seth because of his affair with Cheryl, and then John stabbed me in the back
while stealing the Maltese Furby for Phil & Sue. But in the immortal words
of that guy in Spamalot - "I'm not dead yet!"
Anyway, that was last weekend. We now move on to the weekend of the
20th-22nd. I've heard from a number of people who will be out of town, but I am
still hoping for a good crowd. The usual rules apply - games start at 7:30 on
Friday night and run through Sunday night. I've recently gotten a whole bunch of
new games. Also, as we will be nearing Halloween, feel free to wear a costume.
In honor of the holiday, we will try to play as many horror-themed games as we
can. There may even be a contest to see who can play the most (I still have a
house full of junk to get rid of!!)
There will also be a Texas Hold'em Tournament Saturday night (entry fee to
be determined by the number of participants). Last time 19 people played.
Dinner will be provided on Saturday night. Greg has moved to Florida, so he
won't be bringing his chili, so you'll just have to make do with mine (though
other food donations are always welcomed.)
As always, there is plenty of crash space. Jerry has claimed the main guest
bedroom, but there are still plenty of cots, couches, and Futons.
Movie choices will include "Insecticidal" (hot chicks and giant bugs - I
wonder which will get Nate more excited !), "Snakes on a Train" (yeah I know it
will probably suck, but you have to give these guys credit for releasing it on
DVD the week the real thing arrived in the theaters), and "Frog-g-g-g-g" (guy in
giant rubber frog suit terorizes lesbian biologist - if this doesn't get Lenny
and Vicki here, nothing will!)
I've been a bit delinquent with reminders. One more update will follow next
week for those who might have trouble remembering (I missed a party last month
as the last notice was nearly a month in advance - sorry, Judy - so it does
happen!
Anyway, I hope to see people in a couple of weeks. The usual disclaimer
applies. If you are getting this in error, I apologize, as I still haven't
figure out how to make AOL stop adding addresses to my address book. If
you want to be removed from this list, just ask.
If you are coming, feel free to bring a friend or 2 (as long as they aren't
jerks!).
For more info, feel free to email me.
