Yep, the house is an absolute mess again, so that means I have to throw
another party to force me to clean it up. Got four 7-foot DVD cases for $20 each
from a store going out of business, but just 2 of them take up an entire wall
that used to be space for toys (and on top of it these are already full).
So there's furniture all over the place waiting for me to figure out where to put it, and toys and DVD's piled high :( Guess it's time to build an extra room or 2... (Or start getting rid of old games and movies, which I will make available at a discount to people at the party before I throw them up on Ebay) Anyway, the usual applies...
The event starts at 7:30 Friday night and runs through until around
midnight Sunday. Dinner is provided on Saturday night (weather permitting there
will be a cookout, otherwise I'll cook up some more chili - and with Greg now
living in Florida, I guess that means I will win again this time!) Snacks,
drinks, and other dinner-type food is welcomed, though not required. Crash space
is available for those who want to stay over.
I have hundreds of games to choose from, but feel free to bring your own.
There's a 9-foot pool table, a video game room filled with 1980's game systems,
and if the weather is nice, people can actually do outdoor games.
The featured films this time will include "Bloody Mallory" - (yes, it's
dubbed kind of weird, but the 350 pound black guy really should sound like a
12-year old girl - you have to see it to understand why); "Phil the Alien" -
(Not Phil Hill, but the movie does feature John Kapelos, Nicole DeBoer in a blue
wig as an assassin who kills only aliens, and a talking beaver); and,
assuming the price comes down in time, "Tamara" - (featuring some pretty hot
undead chicks!) If you don't like these, I have hundreds more, or feel
free to bring your own.
This time, I'm going to give Rob a break. Instead of a team party game
Saturday night, there will be a Texas Hold'em tournament. I'm looking to have
around 24-30 people participating (3 tables). More details to follow.
As always, this event is open to members of MENSA, Unity Games,
Meet-in-Boston, and NECG (excluding anyone who might decide to steal from
me for a third time - second strike and you are already out - you know
who you are and unfortunately I don't remember which email address is
yours...)
If you are receiving this email in error, blame AOL. I have deleted many of
the email addresses that were obviously added by AOL (SPOOF EBAY COM, replies from people I've dealt
with on EBAY and AMAZON, and duplicates). There are still a bunch of addresses I
no longer recognize (yeah, my mind is going, and my record-keeping is poor). If
you want to be removed from this list, please let me know.
Apologies for the scheduling to Joe H who has a tentative though
unconfirmed event on the 15th, and to Nate who will be out of town for the 2nd
time in a row.
For more details, please feel free to email me.
I hope to see everyone in July!
-Matt
