[Palindrome] Can we get a landline?
Squonk has just pointed out that the Mystery Hunt page
(http://web.mit.edu/puzzle/www/) now has the following advice on it:
==========
Please make sure your base has at least one dedicated (and fully staffed)
phone line that can handle incoming calls for the duration of the Hunt. A
landline is preferred, but a cellphone is fine, as long as you have good
reception. It is important that you have a fixed number for the entire
hunt, as you will be receiving a lot of calls thoughout the Hunt. We'll
explain this better shortly.
==========
Well, we don't have a landline (so far as I know), nor do we know we have
good reception on a cell phone (it's been bad in the past).
Is there anyway, at this late date, to get a landline set up for HQ? That
is, I'm asking if anyone wants to, and can, volunteer to get this done.
If so, please post your intentions to this list, so everyone will know
who's working on it. Thanks!
In decades past, we'd hijack phone lines from other parts of MIT,
sometimes running wire down the outside of the building, between stories.
Can this still be done? Can someone on this team do it? (This part of
the message is officially not going to Debby.)
Ideas in general on how to improve the situation?
