Dear Tufts Neutrino Enthusiasts,
We are Cancelling our usual Friday meeting this week in order to host
the speaker of the Friday afternoon Colloquium. The speaker is a researcher
from the LUX-ZEPLIN experiment, which has recently reported observation of
a potential dark matter signal
( maximum local significance is 3.4 sigma across
the models tested ). The experimental setup has a goodly number of aspects
in common with neutrino experiments that measure coherent neutrino scattering
and/or solar neutrino interactions, so the Colloquium Talk is one that you will
want to hear.
We will resume our regular Friday meeting on the week following.
