(ET) The dozer blade can use a lot of power....
So been using the dozer blade on the E15 wreck. Fortunately the front of
the tractor is solid, so with the blade mounted I'm able to work on the
trails out back.
Very handy. While the spring trips do trip on ground hazards, running
the blade in reverse will move most things that can be moved. However
the tractor can and will stall, and this has proven tough on the older
drive belts. I've never heard them squeal like this, and one of them
even popped off (both are pretty worn).
Have a spare set of power rated V belts, will put those on next weekend.
Also managed to smoke a reversing relay. I think the field current goes
way up if the motor is stalling or under very heavy load, it popped my
5a control fuse which was unusual (I normally don't run a 20a in the
event some control stuff shorts. But it's apparently needed). Swapped in
a spare relay, but I think I need to stock a set of those 36 volt triple
throw relays again...
Fun day. Lot done, on to the next project.
