Greg, I think the question is whether you're trying to build an
Elec-Trak or design and build a new electric lawn tractor.  If you're
basically trying to build an elec-trak with a sturdier frame, it's
probably better to stay with 36 so the accessories work.  If you're
designing something new, I'd certainly go with 48.  Actually with a
snowblower I'd go higher still, so I could reasonably use a 10kW motor,
but that's a dream I am never going to pursue.
