Re: (ET) Introduction from Michigan
Hi, David, and congrats on your new tractor!
The model number 26AE12HA breaks down as follows:
26 is Outdoor Power Equipment:
A is Consumer grade
E is electric
12 is the tractor style (E-12)
H is the 8th major modification
A is the first version
The serial number HR29692 breaks down as follows:
H is August
R is 1972
29 is the 29th of the month
692 is the low-order 3 digits of a sequence number for E12 machines (2692)
So, your tractor's "birthday" is August 29, 1972
The sequence number can't be determined without a "master list" of all
E12 machines. Some years ago I collected serial numbers and made a list
containing about 3,000 machines (out of GE's total of about 33,000),
enough to be able to determine the actual sequence numbers.
