Re: (ET) Resistor on board 1 burned out?



I'm only familiar with the E20, which doesn't have that board.  Hopefully someone with the same model as you will be able to chime in.

I have been going over this in my mind a lot.  The only other change I made after testing the motor prior to reteaching it to the frame may have been to snub up the main connections to the motor itself.

While doing this I used 2 wrenches, one below the cables and one above.  Through I tried to keep the bolts stationary it still may have moved slightly.  If the internal lead in the motor did happened to somehow ground itself, I think this would have caused the fuse to blow.   I’m still at a loss as to what is causing it.

 

Meanwhile I’m getting my steps in using my Ego walk behind. Yes, I’m very much committed to battery operated devises. Both for convenience, lower dB & lower carbon footprint.

Appreciate  the email.  The present of share knowledge has been the greatest gift throughout the years.

 

Speaking of which I need a little advice from the electronics masters..

I recently put in new Brush assembly in the drive motor. I hooked it up to all of the Cables including the field wiresBefore I reattached it to the underside of the tractor.

It operated smoothly through all seven electric speeds forward and three speeds in reverse. I don’t one through the fun of jacking the motor up to the underside and attaching the Belts and  4 bolt. I did a short test cut of long but knew I had to wait a while till it dried it out further. 

Taking it out again it would only go forward no longer go in reverse. When going forward it barely go through a few speeds and I could tell it was some problems so I took it back to the garage I started checking all the cables again.  I noticed that theI noticed that the foreword relay was not working when you shift into reverse.

 

While in neutral and observed that a small ceramic resistor was overheating. It was just below the ninth connection on the board.  See photos attached. Note that this is a fairly new board I Purchased a couple of years ago and unfortunately I can’t tell exactly what Resistor I should purchase to replace it since it’s all blackened..

Long story short I’d like to know if someone could tell me;

  1. exactly which resistor it is so I can replace it 
  2. any ideas of what I should check to see what may have caused this.

Again, as far as I can tell I’ll All relays are functional and to double check I even swapped out the FW relay and it had the same lack of action as the prior, both had  continuity through the magnet.
