Bill, Have you checked the output with a meter? There are a few models of those chargers. Can you send the model number? It should have a fuse to prevent it from drawing too much current. If it's turning on and not blowing a fuse, it just may be that your batteries are extremely discharged and may not be accepting the charge well.
