Re: (ET) Snowblower motor in E12?

The snow blower motor that I had was a a monster. I have oftened wondered
if anyone has done this. It is a series wound motor with some small
windings to limit the motor speed with no load. The small winding drew
something like 6 amps. I think the motor can generate 10-15 hp for short
periods. Being a series would would require a diferent control circuit to
reverse the field relative to the armature. You would not get as flat a
speed load curve but it would have lots of power. You might put a switch
on the speed limiting field winding to give you speed options and increase
the efficency on the motor if you don't need to limit the speed to 3600
rpm.

I notice the snow blower motor is
 rated 2.5 HP @ 66 amps/
My E12 has original 1.5 motor with a Curtis controller.
Would it be possible to replace the original motor with a
 compound wound blower motor?
