Re: (ET) Freezing batteries

he qualitative, big point is: Freezing point is FAR FAR LOWER for CHARGED batts, so keep 'em charged when the weather gets bitter!

Specifics, from an old battery manual, via Trojan:

Spec Grav     SOC(%)  Freeze (degreesF)
1.280             100              -92
1.265               92              -71
1.250               85              -62
1.200               62              -16
1.150               40               +5
1.100               20             +19

To anyone Upstate/Erie Country, etc., stay safe,

At what temperature do fully charged lead acid batteries freeze? Is it tied to the specific gravity of the acid? I know they can freeze and break if dead.
