Yes Jim that is the catch! As you probably know there are many DC powered controllers to be had. Especially smaller ones that would power a deck motor. I would like to power this one with house current. The majority of DC motor speed controllers for stationary applications all seem to be made for 90V+ DC motors.
My lathe is an overhead drive. Original motor was 1/3hp. Motor in it now is 1/2. Deck motor should be adequate. The fat can motor is really the perfect size for this application... ______________________________________________________________________________________ Is the catch that you want to power the controller from a 120 VAC outlet rather than a battery pack? Then the answers may not be so easy. The mower deck motor would only power a small lathe. One wood turner I know uses a disposal motor, with pulleys for speed changes. Only issue is i cannot seem to find any DC Motor controllers that output around 40v. They are all 90+. Any ideas? -- Jim Coate Free Range Electric Elec-Trak parts @ www.ElectricTractorStore.com |
