Really? Weird; I'll have to take some pictures of mine in action.The cord is thick because it's 8 gauge or so wire plus a signal wire for the contactor at the end. The box that plugs into the tractor has a contactor signaled by the switch on the chainsaw, thus they don't need a big switch.
However the cord has never gotten in the way, and I drive the tractor up to where it's needed. I could probably add on the Elec-trak extension cord for extra length but there would probably be a voltage drop issue.
But it does work *very* well. Lots of torque, and my 14 inch Craftsman chainsaw will easily overload the Elec-trak's rotary inverter.
