Re: (ET) E15 status, motor loses a bit of power.

I do.  bit of sfc. rust and I welded up the large holes in the back where the cab would have mounted, but almost nobody has one of those.  Pics on my website.  http://www.davesevs.com/E15restoration/5%20fenders.htm

Most people just use a few pop rivets to hold them on...

Subject: (ET) E15 status, motor loses a bit of power.

So now that the E15 has a seat, I've been using it more. The E20 finally came off the driveway with the snowblower and is in the shed (with the blower attached, just in case :-) so I use the 15 to haul things around.

It runs well. Slower than the E20 by a bit, but still nice enough. However I did notice that every once in a while the motor would lose power and spin slower, even in neutral. I did a measurement of the armature voltage and it was a nice solid 37 volts, so no problems there. Couldn't check the field voltage, because it just started working normally again.

It might be the field, I put some clips on the field connections and watched the voltage. Solid 36 volts up to speed 3, dropping to 10 or so on speed 6. So that seems to be ok. It's either the brushes going bad, or something in the field circuit.

Regardless, it's a nice little tractor for towing things. However the fenders I salvaged from the old box are too rusted to weld onto this nice new box. So it looks like I need a set of fenders, anyone got a set for sale?

Chris
