Re: (ET) Save the Date- Combined Event...

I might be able to attend, and perhaps bring an old e-15 with a hydraulic bucket loader attached if there's interest in historic exhibits.

Subject: (ET) Save the Date- Combined Event...

Mr. Bruce Laumeister, former General Manager of the Outdoor Power Equipment Operation (OPEO), would like to invite all current Elec-Trak owners to a "40th" Year Reunion of the original OPEO "Elec-Trak" team of General Electric (1969-1974). This event will be held at the Bennington Center for the Arts in Bennington, Vermont on July 28th, 2012, less than an hour and a half from the old Elec-Trak plant in Scotia, N.Y. It will be a combined event with Steve and Diana Shore's second annual Elec-Trak Owners Club Show and Swap Meet where members will be bringing their tractors, attachments and memorabilia to show and trade.

To date we have located 74 of the original "Elec-Trak" staff from the list of 260 employees we are working with. The hunt continues but we hope to have located many more by the time of the party. We are planning quite an event and we would love to have as many current owners as possible who are able to attend there as well.

Since this will be a combined event, planned activities may include...

  • Tractor and attachment display and demonstrations
  • Vintage Elec-Trak dealer items, tools, literature
  • Slide shows- vintage photographs of the past, Elec-Trak enhancements, restorations and more
  • The original "Elec-Trak Movie" screening on the big screen!
  • Old plant tour
  • Photo opportunities
  • Big Elec-Trak swap meet and dealer area
  • Tech classes
  • Lunch will be served and more!

As many of you know we are also working on a book about the Elec-Trak project and hope to have at least a sneak preview of the book for everyone by the time the event rolls around.
I know it's early but please drop me a line and let me know if you think you might be able to attend the event in July and how many people from your party might be attending. We will have a more formal RSVP process as the event draws closer but this will help give us some idea of the interest.

Mr. Laumeister looks forward meeting everyone in person and sincerely hopes you can attend. Mark your calendars now and plan to join us in Vermont this summer.
