Re: (ET) Motor puzzler

That was my next direction to head in.Saw that on a wound field E-12 with centrifugal switch.Would draw over 500 A, and once it got moving you had better have the wheels pointed straight. :) Armature re-done, problem solved. The tech that rewound it was duly impressed with the quality of construction. He worked as a motor tech in a GE locomotive facility near Johnstown PA.

What flavor of E-15 ?

I'm having trouble with an E-15. It looks like a missing field; it
"chugs" at high current draw on the slowest speed, then overspeeds
when you bring it up to full. However, it still does that when I
connect the field directly to the battery, and I measure the field
resistance at 17 ohms, which is what I believe it should be. So I
don't have an open field, and the field circuitry is not the problem.
Any ideas?
