There is another possibility: It's not unusual to see the fuel gauge up with
FU3 (the fuse for the controls) pulled out. Technically one could have the
lines for the contactors tied to ground if they're not hot (going through a
resistor to ground on the SCrs for example). The meter would probably not
spot a high value resistor in the circuit.
Anyone with an E15 care to cross-check this for me?
