Re: (ET) power disconnect switch



How weird... now I get to be on the "other side" of the table, since I'm providing the replacement disconnect that Bill designed:

That said, if you enjoy the design challenge there are a few points to keep in mind:

Make sure to reuse the fusible link or provide a suitable replacement fuse. This is a crucial safety item!

If flush mounted, check the dimensions carefully to see if it will fit inside the console.

If surface mounted, you may have to reroute the wires to get them to reach. Keep in mind that on many models the wire from the disconnect to the PTO contactor serves as the shunt for the power use meter... do not change the length or gage of this cable as it will mess up the the meter readings.

And as for the removable plastic knob/key... I figure the built-in key on the dash already serves that purpose?
