I use a 12 volt winch mounted to the 4 bolt pattern in the front bumper of the 12m with an adapter plate.  I selected an ATV winch with a built in brake so it holds the load.  I also scrapped the cable in favor of a wide nylon strap (similar to a seat belt).  The strap always winds evenly and does not cut into itself and frey.  The plow blade can be adapted to left using the lever on the 12m.  Let me know if you would like any phots.
