I
just put 26x12X12 tires on my E-15. I needed to put spacers on the axles
(1.75 inches) to increase the height to clear the fenders. I also
had to put 1.5 inch spacers between the hub and the wheel to gain clearance on
the side of the tire. This changed the pitch of the tractor.
Shifter would not work correctly as it rubbed on the metal on the frame.
Had to enlarge the hole with a grinder. Next i had to extend the strap
that attaches the frame to the transaxle. As the frame had been raised
by at least 1.75 inches the strap that keeps the transaxle from twisting had
to be lengthen. With all this done I found that the pitch created
from the larger rear tires caused the tractor to slope towards the
front. This affected the front mower. Lift would not lift the
mower high enough to clear properly. I then changed the front tires to
18.50 X 8. This leveled the tractor. Would I do it again.
NO. I do not believe that the increase in tires size helped for
all the trouble. I would go with the original 23X10.50x12
TIRES.

Subject: (ET) What size rear tires will
fit?
My local classifieds have a pair of 26x12x12 ag lug tires with
wheels for sale. Would these fit on an E15?
My tractor is, um... disassembled... , while getting its new
Alltrax so I can't easily measure any clearances.
Thanks!
