List,
When my sister's kids
(both boys) were old enough to tear things apart, my wife and I started buying
tools for them for Christmas every year. They usually got identical
stuff and always Craftman (NOT the cheaper Companion line, either) tools from
Sears. They even both got roller cabinets with top boxes one
time. Long story short - The money that was spent on tools for those 2
little boys has long since returned its value many times. They learned to
use the right tool for the job and both learned about mechanical things.
At this time, the older is in Grad school and the younger is going into the
military, but they still are working on their own vehicles and still learning
mechanical stuff. I think that the money spent for tools gives them
something that they will always have. The only problem now is
remembering what they have and not duplicating it from year to year.
I enjoy reading the
posts on this list. I have an E-12 that I intend to get into operating
condition eventually. Later, Bye GP
