great
this guy is stepping up and offering the conversion kits.
One
thing I wonder about is the patent logo and this part of his
description
"The patent pending speed control
interlock (SCI) will automatically select the correct speed for the conditions
of the grass. If the grass is very heavy it will slow down. When the
grass thins out, the tractor will automatically speed up
again"
Now ,
doesn't that mean that the thing is powered marginally and whenever the grass
gets heavy and the mower motors draw more current the drive motor will slow down
a bit. Wonder if thats all there is or if he added some controls that amplifies
this effect by e.g. sensing the mower motor current and adjustin the drive motor
current to ease the load on the mower motors by slowing down the drive motor.
Also I
would be interested how good his electric brakes are. With no manual brakes i
have my doubts that it
could
pull (well actually I mean stop) a trailor on a slope. Sort of like our ETs,
barely enough braking power to
stop
on level ground let alone a slope or a god forbid a slope with
trailor.
The
worst thing on the ET is when a novice ET driver goes down a slope in cruise
control, then hits the break a bit thinking
it
would slow down. The big surprise is that the old lady will speed up :) as
the drive motor gets shut off and there is no
plug
braking or similar (on the GE models, I think the new Idea had it).
