Re: (ET) Electric Tractor Conversion Update



HP Ratings don't mean much with EV's. Most plug-in EV's are running in
'overload mode' for a good part of their use which is intermittent heavy
overload, and the motors are built to take it.  The GE in my 120V  Ford
Courier pickup is rated at 23.5 hp and at traffic lights keeps up with
gas vehicles.  But to do that am pulling 400A, the controllers limit,  
which is 64 electrical HP, likely cranking in losses, 40-50 hp.  She
outperforms VW aircooled beetles at the lights which are about 50 hp.
(which is not bad for a 4000+lb 25 yr old vehicle)  And these Etractors
do the pulls with 15hp or so gas tractors, again running in heavy
overload mode.  If the 15 16 and 20  tractors were running at plate
rating all the time they would not need double vee belts. 
Do you have a figure on the E12 PM motor?  Or deck motors?
