(ET) Steering wheel removal

Ok, I was driving my trac this weekend and the steering has gone totally 
down the drain. As in I can spin the wheel and it clicks away merrily. 
It's not the washers; I have adjusted them to high heaven and it's still 
clicking.

So I need to replace the steering tube. How difficult is this, and does 
anyone have any tips on doing it? Do I have to take the whole tractor 
apart? I have a brand new axle with pinion gear.
