Re: (ET) Electric push mower - Epoxy the magnets ?



Some of the guys on this list have reported success using epoxy to glue 
the 
curved magnets back in place, if that was all that was wrong with the 
motor.

I have discovered that there are 2 main sizes (diameters) of B&D motors - 
and 
the smaller diameter ones were used for 12vdc CMM (cordless mowers) as 
well 
as the lower current 120 VAC units (like your model 525) - but the winding 
was different - so I swapped out steel shell/magnets to fix one.  

Also, the 24v CMM 1000 might be the same larger diameter shell/magnet as 
the 
higher current 120vac model, so again, interchangeable.

But, of the 6 or 7 corded and cordless B&D mowers I have found in the 
trash 
over the years, I think 3 failed (meaning I found them this way) due to 
magnets, 1 to bent shaft, and 1 to charging/safety switch - so magnets 
were 
most common problem !
