Re: (ET) Chinese cheap DVM's



Changed the subject line, since a few threads mentioned these meters.

If you DO use one of these meters, I recommend occasionally comparing its 
reading to a known good (Fluke, Simpson, or many other brands) meter.  

I have purchased about 15 of these 'under $10' DV meters (Harbor Freight & 
other places) of the last 10 years, and found some variation in readout.  
Most were within tolerance, but not all.  I don't remember on the ones 
that 
were defective if it was wrong on many ranges, or just ohms or just volts.

Otherwise, once you have checked it, they are really handy to keep in 
Glove 
Box in car - and if you lose it, drop it, or it gets stolen ... you kinda 
don't care.
