I have a Flymo thanks to Geof, and I haven't had any more trouble
controlling the cord than with my Black & Decker wheeled plugin mower.
That
is to say, I've cut the cord once with each machine. ;-)

I do find though that the Flymo has trouble with the unevenness of my
lawn.
Not that it scalps it or anything, rather that uneven ground makes some of
the air leak out from under it so that it becomes a little too hard to
maneuver. I tend to use the B&D more unless I want a workout (seriously).

One good thing about the Flymo is that it's easy to get under things with
it. This makes it especially suited to the finish work after mowing with
the ET.
