(ET) Tech help again please - battery again
Hello again,
First off a big thanks to everyone for their advice on the battery front. I
have narrowed down the search and have found some local 12v batteries.
These
are 'cat24', and are rated at 80 amp hour - 20 hour rate. The tractor
manual
says to use 90 amp hour. I have found some 'cat27' that are rated 105 amp
hour, but they wont fit into the tractor. Could any one tell me what the
consequences of using 80 amp hour instead of 90 amp hour might be? I have
been guessing at anything from the tractor not running at all to it needing
more frequent charging. Also, would I be OK to put 3 instead of 6 in to
start with - just to run a 5 second test to see if the motor is working?
On another note, the idea of using the tractor as a backup power supply
sounds really good to me. I am thinking of later keeping my tractor charged
with a PV.
Many thanks I advance,
John
