Ditto, on the E15HA at least, it swings down.
I'd say hope it does break, along the hinge line, because otherwise it's still a
pain to work behind. But mine didn't break and I managed to check
continuity and even move a spade connector.

Short of
removing the steering column (not recommended), just bend it down and hope it
doesn't break. Mine did not break and everything is fine.
