Re: (ET) How often to charge batteries?
Stored in an area above 40 F, spg and water level should be checked once
monthly. If spg falls to 1.220 the batteries should be re-charged; my E12
is kept in a warm shed and as I don't mow anymore, it gets a monthly
charge.
For winter, self discharge is almost non-existant below +40 F and batteries
can be left w/o attention for several months (from Homeowners Manual). Not
sure about this so don't let it sit w/o re-charge in winter for more than 6
weeks. There little danger of overcharging when batteries are cold so
extra
charging in the cold is advisable when use is expected in a day or
so.....also from the H.M.
I use the on-board GE charger, takes 10-12 hrs to charge a 4 year-old pack
to the recommended 45v, or close to it.
