Re: (ET) NiCADs in Elec-traks
I have 6 STM-180's in my E15.
Charging? what else but a Dodge TEVan PFC charger
(this charger can do 6V to 180V packs no problem).
I think the Rudman chargers will also work fine.
The TEVan charger doesn't have a charge algorithm for
6 batteries, I babysit it while charging.
You can see the jump in voltage while charging
indicating it is almost full. If it jumps up to 48+
volts I disconnect it soon after. It may not get
fully charged, but who cares, the STM-180's will put
out far more than the lead acids, so I'm not real
concerned.
Not sure about the BB600's. I plan on putting some in
the E15 and my Club Car golf cart, haven't had time to
do either yet. I guess I'll worry about charging
these when they are installed.
