Re: (ET) corded mower motor needed
Put a mower motor in it and plug it into your tractor!

Hello all, a couple of years ago I bought this Lawn Chief corded mower
from our local True Value hardware store. It quit working late last year
so I just it put away since we were slowing down mowing until I had time
to look at it. Tonight I thought I'd check it out to see if I could fix
it or at least find out what was wrong.
Well, like one of my WheelHorse C-185's mower motors was, it's got a
cracked/broken magnet on one side. Its a 120VAC 12Amp motor (at least
according to the mower info) with a part number MAF7Y on top of the
motor, no other numbers or brand names. I'm wondering though if its an
AC motor at all as it has a small square with 4 terminals on it and the
AC cord connecting to it and a diode symbol on the top of the little
square box. Could this actualy be a DC motor and the square box is a
diode rectifier setup?
Anyhow, I'm needing to find another motor to replace it with and haven't
had much luck with any internet searches. Any ideas on a easy motor
replacement?
Thanks, Anthony Bailey
